QuesCom, a European manufacturer of innovative solutions to create the VoIP Evolution, announced today an alliance with Natural MicroSystems, the technology leader enabling a new era of communications.
Under the terms of the agreement, using NMS products and services, QuesCom will incorporate the latest VoIP technology into its SmartIADŽ line of Integrated Access Devices.
Using NMS Alliance Generation Technology, PCI HBAs with DSP resources and telephony interfaces, QuesCom has integrated interactive voice response (IVR), fax, and IP telephony capabilities to its newly announced SmartIADŽs, the QuesCom 500 and the QuesCom 600. In addition, QuesCom has licensed Natural MicroSystems's VoIP technology to incorporate in future systems.
The Alliance Generation products from NMS were the first to implement true media streaming on DSP resource boards, through an efficient task processing design, which ensures flexibility and scalability.
"We are very pleased with this agreement with Natural MicroSystems," said Philippe Oros, President of QuesCom. "This is a key element of our strategy for delivering the VoIP Evolution. The integration of NMS products and services will allow us to speed up our time to market and also to gain a high growth rate in this exciting Next Gen Telecomm world."
The market for IP Telephony hardware will grow to $2.5B by 2002 (source Datamonitor).
As IP Telephony needs to live with PSTN and ISDN, this creates a significant growth opportunity for QuesCom VoIP evolution products.
Using True Convergence by Converging Data and Voice and Integrating Existing Voice and Data systems and new VoIP systems we have made the VoIP Revolution manageable by transforming it into the VoIP Evolution. At the basis is the SmartIADŽ created by QuesCom, an Intelligent and Integrated Access Device. Complemented by the QWare Call Server software family with an Open Architecture and Balanced Intelligence we ensure the future growth possibilities to continue the Evolution. SmartIAD and QWare together offer a complete solution to implement VoIP networks for both Enterprise networks as well as for Carriers delivering unified services based on IP.
The Alliance Generation series is supported using Natural MicroSystems' Natural Access software development and runtime environment. Natural Access™ is a modular runtime and development environment for voice, fax, and call processing applications. It provides a simple and consistent standard application-programming interface (API) for integrating and presenting media and telecommunication capabilities to an application. Standard features include telephony call control, voice record and playback, tone detection and generation, industry-standard CT Bus switching support, and hot swap for CompactPCI.
"The service provider market has become one of the fastest growing areas in all of communications. Our goal is to help our customers to deliver first-to-market with differentiated IP service offerings for carriers and service providers. This alliance with QuesCom shows our capability to rapidly deploy a broad range of new technology and enhanced services", says Jack Chase, Marketing Director, New Network Access, at Natural MicroSystems.
The combination of QuesCom and NMS technologies will allow customers to benefit from best-of-class voice services through a truly global communication solution.
