Net-Tone, the leading developer of hosted convergent telephony (voice/data/mobile) applications and QuesCom, the European voice and data specialists announced that their combined solution that gives small and medium sized companies the use of next generation convergent services without having to replace their existing PBX or telephones is ready.
Today, despite a strong interest in convergence services their deployment in office environments has been slower than forecast. This is because to most SMEs the associated costs of IP PBXs, routers and the third party knowledge required to implement such solutions is prohibitive and in many cases they simply are not yet willing to let go of their tried and true PBXs.
Thanks to the Net-Tone QuesCom partnership, both of these issues are resolved.
Net-Tone's 55+ IP Centrex (operator hosted voice/data/mobile) convergence services can now work seamlessly with QuesCom's SmartIAD® line. This means that any SME interested in using services such as web call-centres, unified messaging and other CTI applications need not replace any of their existing equipment, instead they simply add a SmartIAD® to their existing telephone network. This is an excellent value proposition for service providers who will be commercialising the combined solution as they do not have to convince businesses to give up their PBX and take the risk of installing a new piece of equipment that has yet to be proven. Service providers will be able to offer all of the business features remotely thanks to the information exchanges between the Net-Tone platform located in the service provider's network and the QuesCom SmartIAD® located in the enterprise's internal telephony network.
Philippe Oros, CEO of QuesCom, explains: “We believe the Net-Tone platform is the example of an innovative software solution that will drive new Voice Applications towards enterprises. The fit with the QuesCom SmartIAD® is perfect and the complexity for the combined solution is greatly reduced. QuesCom brings access to the Enterprise PBX in the easiest way possible to Net-Tone applications for the Enterprise. Furthermore we have a similar mission: The real promise of IP Telephony is to deliver new services, and we deliver them without breaking a 100 year habit of using the phone system”
Julien Delaporte, CTO of Net-Tone adds that “We are very pleased with the QuesCom partnership because now businesses have two if not three choices; either they can work in full IP Centrex with IP phones or they can enjoy the same services using their existing PBX and phones by simply adding a QuesCom IAD. In multisite configurations they can deploy a mixed architecture, depending on which solution makes greatest sense for each site. This is coherent with our philosophy that the end users should only pay for what they use. In terms of service each office in a multisite configuration will enjoy the same services and a company wide numbering plan. Maurice Zembra CEO of Net-Tone added that “for many multisite companies with heterogeneous PBX instalments there simply is no cost effective voice VPN alternative on the market today. “
Net-Tone and QuesCom will be deploying this solution over the next month at 2 client sites.
