The QuesCom NextBX Call Server application is the cornerstone of QuesCom's NextBX IP Telephony applications. The NextBX Call Server application controls all call handling in a NextBX IP Telephony network. In combination with the SmartIAD it creates the Next Generation Telecommunications Server network.
Incorporating multiple protocol support, it allows Enterprises and Operators to grow their VoIP networks even when new systems or standards arrive. Full support for building Voice-VPNs (Virtual Private Network) for multiple customers. An integrated full policy based routing systems is the basis for extensive Least Cost Routing features, and other routing schemes like those for emergency calls. Furthermore it provides input for billing application by keeping complete Call Detail Records (CDR) from all the calls in the complete SmartIAD network, both for Switched calls as well as for VoIP based calls. The NextBX call server application is designed to interoperate with Soft-Switches and other VoIP control systems.

The NextBX Management Application provides Element, Network and Customer control management for a NextBX IP Telephony network. The Element management system, with its distributed intelligence, provides the centralised set-up and controls the SmartIAD® configuration. This eliminates the need for local intervention or set-up on the customer premises or branch office site. It is called Plug-and Play SmartIAD management. The Network management part provides a full control of the VoIP network. The third part is the Customer Administration manager that manages numbering and feature plans for clients or independent parts of companies. It includes a user portal that provides users connected to a NextBX IP Telephony network with a web-based interface for their day-to-day voice feature control.

This toolkit provides developers of VoIP based Value Added Applications with full control of the Call Set-up process for all Voice systems in the NextBX IP telephony architecture. For CTI developers, as well as for Call Centre applications, it allows them to build VoIP based Call Centres with full control of the VoIP process, and full integration of existing PBX systems. With QuesCom True Convergence, this delivers access to both VoIP based systems as well as existing PABX based voice systems.
